Southern Star Brewing Company was founded in July 2007, located in Conroe, Texas. We were the first craft brewery in the great state of Texas to can craft beer. Due to the dramatic increase in popularity of our brews, we were provided the opportunity to move our operations in to a brand new, custom built facility in 2016. We now sit on over 13-acres of wooded property, with an extraordinary tap room to overlook the production brewhouse, an outdoor Biergarten with a live music stage and a disc golf course. We love entertaining our guests Thursdays through Sunday and giving brewery tours at 2pm and 4pm every Saturday.

This outfit—started by a former Saint Arnold brew master—makes the popular ale known as Bombshell Blonde, and it’s well worth embarking on one of the brewery’s twice-daily weekend tours, where lucky visitors get to experience the olfactory bliss of standing in the fridge where they store all the hops.

The brewery offers a wide variety of beers, including their flagship beer, the Bombshell Blonde Ale, which has won numerous awards for its crisp and refreshing taste. Other popular brews include the Pine Belt Pale Ale, Buried Hatchet Stout, and Blood Belt Blood Orange Sour.

Southern Star Brewing Company’s taproom provides a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for visitors to taste their beers and relax with friends. The brewery also offers tours, allowing visitors to learn about the brewing process and the history of the company.

I wanna start off this review by saying these guys have some very very good beer 🍺 🙌🏾 I was actually introduced to their beer back in 2018 so I’ve been drinking their beer for quite some time and all up until yesterday was the first time I actually came to the brewery and it was a good experience the place itself is very huge tons of space very nice very clean surrounded by trees real laid-back chill vibe a good place to come and drink a nice cold beer on a very beautiful sunny day the bartender was extremely nice made us feel welcome and so I enjoyed my time here and I’m definitely gonna be coming back and if you like good beer and you’re in this area come give them a try!

These fools opened the door at night and the weather is 77% humidity and over 80 degrees 9 at night. The feels like is 88. I DO NOT recommend, unless you enjoy drinking in a sauna.

Came here for the first time today for CAC Hops for Hope. The atmosphere was amazing! The beer was the BEST!! We will definitely be back!!

A friend recommended this place and we've been twice now. I'm not sure when busy times are, but both times we visited were pretty empty. Once it was Sunday for lunch and the second time was a Friday night. Maybe a Saturday? We will see! We loved the beer selection and will be coming back. The barkeeps were friendly, the space was really nice, indoors and out. The food truck had tasty appetizers to snack on.

I loved Southern Star but new ownership has been inconsistent. Tried to go today, but it was closed without any notice in socials. The days open keep changing and the local feel is not the same as old ownership.

Some of the best beer around. However, since ownership has changed, the atmosphere is worse and their communication is poor. We went to get food and they had no cook for the past week. They promised they were bringing food trucks but none showed up. Unfortunately, we will start going elsewhere likely

Visited Southern Star for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great beers! I especially liked the Oktoberfest and the Conspiracy Theory. Good burger and fries also. Best part of the visit was the positive energy from Taylor. She made everyone feel welcome and it was so refreshing to see the pride she has in the brewery and her job.

Taylor, the manager was absolutely wonderful! 100/10 customer service and the beers were fantastic. My partner and I live in Austin but visit Houston often, we will definitely we stopping here every time we pass through!

Amazing service from Taylor! They recently underwent new ownership so some previous patrons may have been wary about the new look, but rest assured it’s still our favorite local brewery with excellent staff and excellent brews. Next time you come by, ask for The Swift it’s amazing!
