I recently purchased a boat from Texas Boat Sales and it was a great experience start to finish. To begin with, I called several months before my purchase to inquire about what boats they had available along with any insight that they may have on the history of the boats. What I expected to be a 5 minute conversation lasted much longer and the salesman was surprisingly helpful. He took the time to talk through what kind of boat I was looking for, where I was planning on using the boat, how long I planned on keeping it, etc. so he could make recommendations from their inventory based on my preferences. Along the way he added a lot of helpful insight and advice that I hadn’t thought through at that point regarding what boat would be best for my family. At the time, they didn’t have a boat in that seemed to really meet what we were looking for. He didn’t push and I kept shopping. Over the course of the next month or so I would find a boat I liked and would call Texas Boat Sales service department about service and maintenance questions in case I wanted to use them when I bought a boat. The service shop was incredibly knowledgeable, honest and straightforward about all types of boats and engines. I later checked back on their website and saw a boat that I really liked. When I called and spoke to the original salesman, he handed me over to another salesman that was more of an expert on that specific type of boat. I assume this cost the original salesman (that already had a lot of time invested in me) a sale, but apparently making sure I was in the best hands possible was most important to them. From there, it quickly became apparent that the salesman he gave me to was indeed an expert on the boat I was looking at, could tell the history of the boat and was completely open about the few minor issues that would need to be repaired on the boat (bimini stitching, small seat tear, type stuff – some of which I probably would have never even noticed). He even gave me contacts of who could do the repairs and what it would cost (he had already done the legwork for me) so I could factor them into the cost of the boat. During the test drive, the salesman took all the time necessary to show me what the boat would do, how to operate all of the features on the boat and provided a lot of guidance on maintenance, care, etc. to keep the boat in top condition. The actual purchase process was much simpler and easier than I anticipated - incredibly straightforward and quick with no hidden costs, fees, etc. and they handled everything (title, registration etc.) I was literally on the water with my family an hour after I showed up at the dealership to close the transaction. They were available after the sale to answer questions and provide additional services if needed. It should be noted that we did have one last minute issue that was beyond anyone’s control but ended up being a substantial cost. The salesman actually came out of pocket to make the problem right so I would get the boat in the condition and equipped as represented. Throughout the process these folks did the right thing, despite having to invest a lot of time and even when it cost them money out of their own pocket. Bottom line – my service and overall experience was great. It was as easy and straightforward as I could possibly imagine and I ended up getting a great boat at a very fair price. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend my friends and family to Texas Boat Sales to either buy or sell a boat. read less - 2/01/2018
