The Crighton Theatre received the coveted “ULTIMATE VENUE-OUTSIDE THE LOOP” award by the Houston Chronicle offering performances to suit all tastes in the Arts. From the Stage Right Productions debut season, to the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society featuring national and international touring stars such as Marvin Hamlisch, Debbie Reynolds, and numerous others, to the highly acclaimed Sounds of Texas Music series with past performances by legendary artists such as Guy Clark, Ricky Skaggs, The Flatlanders, and many more. All performances are funded in part by the City of Conroe.

Performances and Tickets

Over the years, hundreds of stage productions by Stage Right Productions and numerous professional performances by the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society and The Sounds of Texas Music Series have been held in the restored Theatre to the delight of the residents of Montgomery and the surrounding counties.

In 1999 the city of Conroe determined it was of utmost importance that all of downtown be restored. The restoration began with all newly bricked sidewalks and new lampposts. The Crighton Theatre would remain the centerpiece of downtown. Building facades are being restored making the experience of “going to the theatre” even more exciting. With your help, you can continue the glorious history for the Crighton Theatre – The Crown Jewel of Montgomery County

The Crighton Theatre is a truly historic theatre built in 1934, and is the home base for performances offered by Stage-Right Productions, Sounds of Texas Music Series and Christian Youth Theatre. In addition, the theatre is offered for rent for other events.

A lovely theatre in downtown Conroe bringing great shows with talented local actors. As an old theatre the balcony seats are pretty close together, so try to leave your jacket and extra belongings in the car. The Sunday show is a great opportunity to browse the shops nearby!

Bearlemania 64 If these guys have played together for 20 years I’m flummoxed. No professional transitions between songs, audio was problematic and the set design uninspired. As a true Beatle fan, this was a disappointing evening. They lost my interest and respect with the first song. What a really cool old theater, such a great ambiance. Not going to lie, it could use a thorough dusting on the wall decorations in the actual seating area, and it is a bit musty on the balcony, but what an awesome experience. Places like these need to be treasured.

This was the second show I have seen in this space. This time we sat someplace different. The architecture is amazing. The Decour is amazing. The space is amazing. It is so well kept up. Conroe should be super proud of the space they have created downtown. Of which the Crighton is a cornerstone of that.

Mary Poppins was amazing by CYT. I would recommend it 100%. The actors did an excellent and professional job. We were so impressed with all of them. Just spectacular performance. And I first saw it I London!! So these youth here at a local theater blew me away. The only thing I would change is the sound system, you couldn’t hear the dialogue very well. It was sometimes muffled. So if you hadn’t seen the movie or musical, you would have a tough time understanding the story and miss some pertinent points. The story is way too good to miss any of the wonderful dialogue. Hire a good sound guy and update your sound system. I know it’s tough because you work by donations but I think it would greatly improve the experience if you could possibly update it. I’m on the volunteer tech team for a big church here in our area so I know some professional sound people that could help you out but I couldn’t find any way to privately contact you on your website.

My wife and I attended this beautiful venue for the World Primer opening of screenwriter Ritchey Cable's "The Author Movie" staring Cameron Stout and Ashton Brooke Gill on September 27th. This theatre is as nice as many NYC Broadway and Off-Broadway theaters. Conroe should be very proud to have such a great place to enjoy live presentations.
