The Fish Dude’s Guide Service offers full and half day Lake Conroe fishing trips for 2 -6 members of a group. I also do corporate fishing trips with advanced notice. Lake Conroe is known as Houston’s play ground but most people don’t realize the lake is one of the best fishing lakes within 50 miles of Houston.

Lake Conroe has produced several monster Black Bass and Hybrid Striper’s over 12 pounds. Also Crappie up to 2 pounds and just about as many catfish as
anyone would ever want.

Lake Conroe has the best Hybrid Striper fishing I’ve seen in the Houston area.
We consistently catch Hybrid Stripers that weigh from 6 to 12 pounds on a variety of baits primarily live shad. The Hybrid Striper is one of the most aggressive
fish there is in fresh water.

Black Bass are in good supply in Lake Conroe also they tend to be finicky from time to time though. Most Black Bass are fair size when you do get them to bite
ranging from 3 pounds to the Monster 13+ sizes.

Crappie on Lake Conroe are fantastic in late spring and can be caught in a variety of ways from jig fishing to minnows; with slab Crappie that exceed 2 pounds at
times.

Finally the Catfish the almighty catfish is one of the most exciting fish there is. I say this because of the numbers of them you catch and because in the cooler
months from October through April you can catch larger fish and a lot of them. In the warmer months the catfish tend to be a little smaller but are there in
numbers. Catfish in the cooler months generally run 2 to 8 pounds and warmer months 2 to 4 pounds.

Hybrid Stripers 5 per person 18″ min. length
Crappie 25 per person 10″ min. length
Black Bass 5 per person 16″ min. length

I highly recommend Fish Dude's Guide Service! Great day fishing with you Richard, thanks for a tremendously fun afternoon. For those smart enough to realize, catching fish is never a sure thing. Richard worked hard to put us on some real nice crappie. He is a very skilled angler and guide which made a potentially average day fishing after a cool front very productive. We caught a real nice mess of crappie, bluegill and catfish. Nice Job Richard! My partner and I had a great time fishing with you. See you again in a couple weeks.

I went out with Richard on his Ranger bass boat... We covered quite a bit of the lake on a mildly choppy day... His boat handled the waves very well... It was a very comfortable ride.... The purpose of the trip was centered on learning some (to me) advanced techniques like flipping pitching and skipping... We also did some frog swimming... Richard had me pitching in just a few minutes... Richard also provided on-the-water instruction for how to actually make use of the fishfinder to interpret images (not just use the controls such as brightness and contrast, etc.)... Richard also gave other good pointers and tips with respect to long casts with large crankbaits without getting backlashes...

The no catch fish due, My self and two other people went with out with him last year to catch Striped bass and with 4 people fishing we only caught 1. So he then took us to The CAT FISH hole and we caught 19 small cat fish. And he change the price on the boat. He gave me a price at the boat show and change it on the water. So don't go out on a trip this guy!

Took my 6-1/2 years old grandson and his parents for catfish fishing on a cloudy (later rainy) day. He had the best time of his life, reeling-in all the fish we hooked (38 in 3 hours). He usually fishes with his dad in the Sea of Cortez in southern Baja California, but he had yet to have such great fishing action and excitement. From now on I know he will always want to go fishing with Richard when he comes to visit Houston. Richard, the Fish Dude, provided great service, and is a fine person.
