What Is Ceramic Coating And Why Do I Need It On My Boat?

Ceramic coating is becoming more and more popular due to its functionality. So what is ceramic coating? Ceramic coating is a protective layer that provides resistance to scratches and other types of damage. It will also increase the durability of your vehicle, making it less likely to scratch or chip. It can also be used for decorative purposes, such as giving your car an expensive looking finish.

Ceramic coating is best applied when the vehicle has just been waxed and polished. This will give it maximum protection against the elements and allow it to last longer than if you were to apply it before waxing and polishing.

There are many reasons you should consider a ceramic coating for your vehicle, but the top three are rust, corrosion, and oxidation. This type of coating is durable and protects the surface of your car.

Protects against rust: Rust can be damaging to a vehicle’s exterior and it can also lead to other costly repairs that you may not have wanted. A ceramic coating will protect your car from rust by creating a barrier between the metal and the environment.
Protects against corrosion: Corrosion is another common problem with vehicles that has become more prevalent as cars have become more complex with electronics on board. A ceramic coating will protect against corrosion by creating an electrically neutral barrier between the metal and the environment which will prevent any damage from occurring to sensitive electronics.
Protects against oxidation: Oxidation occurs when oxygen reacts with metals in an environment where that metal isn’t protected by a layer of paint or protective film like a ceramic coating would provide protection for your car.
