This park re-opened in May 2025!

Building began in 1990 as a partnership with San Jacinto River Authority as well as Texas Parks and Wildlife. The park was purchased by a private business, adding lots of new improvements. Lake Conroe Beach Park covers 13 acres and is Open Tuesday – Sunday. It is less than $10 to get in with kids under 3 for free. Located at 14968 Hwy 105 West, Montgomery, Texas. 936-900-1493

Hours for the Lake Park:
April through October is 9 am to 7 pm
November through March is 9 am to 5 pm

The park offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages, including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, and picnicking. The swimming area is well-maintained and has a designated roped-off section for safety. Super unprofessional, the check-in person called me and my family stupid. Furthermore, they had "additional follow-ups" and kept monitoring us. Wayne, who claims his family owns the place, felt it necessary to "mark his territory" and came to deliver a monologue and accused of refusing payment, when we in fact did pay! This family makes money by having PRIVATIZED the only public park on southern Lake Conroe. They charge an entry fee of 8$ PER PERSON, including 4 year olds. Veterans also have to pay, 5$ per vet. Also NO PETS. The water is also disgusting, brown and warm. Would not recommend to anyone.

PLEASE BE AWARE! The owner and the staff working in this park are awfully disrespectful and harassing. This review is just an enlightenment for the public to know what this park has turned into. It used to not only be free but be peaceful. I entered the park by permission of the staff ( I informed them I was looking for someone before we decide to stay and wasn’t sure they were there since their phone was not reachable) Not even two minutes after entering I kept being chased in the park by a female staff. I exited the park, and went around to pay. Then the other staff decided to tell me they will close the park if it rains (it was already raining lightly and park was not being closed). At this point they were going to charge me the entry fee and then tell me to leave because of the rain. I chose not to stay, and they let me in so I could turn around and get out again. I stopped (left the car on), went to let know my other friends (found them) that we won’t stay but leave the park. As I start walking to go back in the car (this is a matter of two-3 minutes of me getting out and in the car, so it wasn’t like I had extended my passing by to make them feel like I was lying) this female staff kept driving towards me with the atv kind of cart and kept harassing me. I was shocked and scared how close to me she got with the cart and argued constantly as I was asking her to back off from me and not be so close. I ended up being called dumb. In short, I have never encountered such behavior from anyone til today. We were harassed, and discriminated until the moment we left. Another car was also backing off from entrance gate and left. Who knows what they were treated like! This is a harassing and discriminatory place. They will take your money and still be the same way. I have no reason to lie, and this is purely a review to the most recent park’s type of environment abd staff. People need to be informed before entering. Save your money and peace. There are better places to be.

Pretty lake, staff is very friendly and instructions are given at the front. Not over crowded which is a big plus. Cleaning crew are very friendly and helpful always cleaning out trash bins.

July 2025 $8 per person (not per car). Easy to find the entrance. Kids life jackets are available for $3.00 per day. Arrive early (like 9.00 a.m.) to avoid crowds, lines and enjoy just a few people in the water. "Beach": tiny area with an ok sand surrounded by concrete and grass. A few plastic palm trees. You can rent chairs or bring your own, BUT if you bring your picnic chairs you CANNOT put them on the sand, only on the grass. I was approached by an attendant and was asked to move. Stuff was friendly and did not bother me. Area is clean. 3. NO DOGS. NO ALCOHOL. There is a cold outdoor shower, so you can rinse off the lake water from your skin. Floatation devices are allowed. There are picnic tables and grills. Arrive early on weekends and holidays to grab a spot. Cabanas for rent. Overall, not bad if you live 30 min or less away. If you plan to drive 1 hour+, don't do it. It is ok, not super nice area. Not enough trees/flowers. Too urban. Close to highway, better go to the nearby state park like Huntsville or Lake Livingston. I might be back but I was not impressed. Kid-friendly place. Some food trucks. I believe they close at 6.00 p.m.

New place to explore wowwww, play area to set up and swimming space was fun. Time flew enjoying the swim walking around and taking some awesome pics. Definitely coming back !!!

Restrictions, restrictions, restrictions. No alcohol, no pets - yes, I agree. It makes sense... But... It took me a little digging to find out I can not bring my own paddleboards. Seriously? There are so many places around that allow this and it is restricted at this park? I understand they want you to come and rent theirs, but hey, when there are so so many locations around, where you can easily use your own paddleboards, it is just one huge reason I will decide against even paying for the entry tickets. Such a shame. The previous location we went to, we used my own paddleboards, and there were kayaks offered for rent. Guess what. There were many more people renting kayaks compared to people that brought their own kayaks/paddleboards still. Based on the description of this park I read on the website, I really would love to visit it, but since I can not bring my own paddleboard, I will have to pass.

We enjoyed the lake. The parking was frustrating as hell though. It was complete chaos. The guys directing parking need to take a class or something to learn how to do so properly. WHYYYYY would you park cars this close together? This is so frustrating. My wife could barely get in her side to pull forward so I could get in on the passenger side. What if she couldn’t do so? Would we have to stay there until one of the other drivers returned and we’re hopefully able to get into their car to move? Do better.

Pros: • Plenty of space on the beach itself - not crowded, very open. • Clean and well-maintained area, nice overall atmosphere. • They have a water station where you can rinse off after swimming - very cool, much appreciated. Cons: • Very limited parking for modern vehicles. Parking on the grass is not allowed, which makes it hard to find a spot. • No lifeguard on duty, even though the entrance fee is $8.50 per person - more than enough to provide at least two not only for safety( it is not deep by the way) but also to create local job opportunities. • Cabana rentals are $400, which feels unreasonable given the lack of a nice view and the yellow sand 😂👌 P.S. Went on a Saturday, and was pleased that it wasn't overly busy. The new upgraded beach area was very nice, but there are a bunch of rocks in the water so watch your footing! My one and only complaint would be the pricing they have set to rent out a basic cabana for a day, or even chairs and an umbrella. Other than that, it was a wonderful time.

The interaction with the officers did not meet expectations, as their demeanor was somewhat discourteous. My family and I were asked to exit the water at 6:20, despite the fact that others remained in the water at that time.
