SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 2.23 feet below pool. Catfish bite is improving as the water temperature cools. Baited holes and wind blown ledges have been producing well on Catfish Bubblegum, liver, and punch bait. Trophy catfish have been caught with the eaters, but are pretty few and far between. Trophy catches will improve once the weather and water become chilly. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Bass are slower for the most part now mainly due to persistent higher water temperature. The most productive bites are happening early around riprap, docks, and deeper bulkheads where anglers are finding success using shallow running crankbaits, Texas rigs, and wacky worms. As the day progresses, larger fish are being caught around brush piles and structures on main lake points and drop-offs in water depths up to 20 feet. Carolina rigged lizards and deep-running crankbaits remain effective tactics during the day. Report by Bryan Brawner, Lake Conroe Charters. Hybrids are in 13-23 feet of water with some in good schools. Target points or flats trolling with a pet spoon and a diver, jigging with MTPockets slabs, or using large minnows. The crappie bite has picked up over the past days due to the cooler temperatures, but you will still need to fish several spots and thumps have been lighter. Lone Star Crappie Jigs, Stunna jigs, smaller jigs and minnows have been a hit-or-miss in 12-22 feet of water on or close to the structure. Always wear your life jacket. Report by Mike Cason, Fishical Therapy Lake Conroe Guide.
