Sep 27, 2023SLOW. Water stained; 87 degrees; 2.09 feet below pool. The catfish bites has improved as the water temperature cool. Baited holes and wind blown ledges have been producing well on Catfish Bubblegum, liver, and punch bait. Trophy catfish have been caught with the eaters but pretty few and far between. They will get considerably better once it gets chilly. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Water levels remain low, and bass are still biting better in deeper waters from 9-16 feet. Fish are relating to brush piles and lay downs situated around points, drop-offs, rock piles and other similar structures. Crankbaits, Texas rigged worms, and Carolina Rigged plastics are all effective choices. The early bite remains good using smaller crankbaits, trick worms and Texas rigged worms in depths up to 8-9 feet focusing around riprap, docks near creeks, and vegetation on the North end of the lake. Report by Bryan Brawner, Lake Conroe Charters. Hybrids are in 13-23 feet of water some small schools, but more scattered. On points and flats trolling with a pet spoon and a diver. Some success using MTPockets slabs jigging for them, and using large minnows, catching many juveniles but getting some keepers. The crappie bite is still slow, having to hit many spots to get the hotties, thumps have been lighter, Lone Star Crappie Jigs and stunna jigs have been producing, smaller jigs and minnows have been been a hit or miss, finding them in 12-22 feet of water on or close to structure. Always wear your life jacket. Report by Mike Cason, Fishical Therapy Lake Conroe Guide.
