GREAT. Water stained; 57 degrees; 0.66 feet below pool. Catfish are great. Catfish are outstanding from baited holes to drifting. Hybrids and white bass have been good as well with jigging and deadsticking on points. MTPockets has a great set up for deadsticking. Some fish have started staging in the creeks. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. The bass bite has slowed a lot with weekly cold fronts. The water remains off color in the back of creeks. Some bass are being caught on flukes while targeting hybrids in deeper water as some of the larger bass hang below the active feeding hybrids for an easy meal. In colder water, bass tend to be inactive and slow-moving, so it is best to use slow-moving baits that mimic their natural food sources like Finesse jigs with a craw trailer which are good around brush and structure. As the sun warms cooler waters around grass beds, spinnerbaits can be another effective lure as the flash and vibration of the blades mimics the movement of small baitfish and more water can be covered. Report by Bryan Brawner, Lake Conroe Charters. Crappie bite has improved on structure in 12-22 feet of water using hair jigs from Lone Star Crappie Jigs and Stunna jigs, and low profile plastics. As the day warms up they will be on the move. Some are catching them staging close to creeks as well. Always wear your life jacket. Report by Mike Cason, Fishical Therapy Lake Conroe Guide.
