Fishing Report

GOOD. Water stained; 89 degrees; 1.34 feet below pool. Catfish are still being caught throughout the lake in 25 feet of water over baited areas using Catfish Bubblegum, liver, punch bait, or shad. Bass fishing has been fair overall with bass being caught early around docks and lay downs in 6-9 feet of water on Texas Rigged worms and medium running crankbaits. They are also being caught early around riprap with crankbaits and trick worms. Deep running crankbaits and Carolina Rigged lizards are producing some fish during the day around brush and drop offs in 17-22 feet depths. Report by Bryan Brawner, Lake Conroe Charters. Hybrids are on the move in 17-27 feet of water. Finding some small schools, but most of the fish are scattered on points and flats. Trolling with a pet spoon and a diver, has had some success, thumping and splashing with jigs has worked to bring them in, using MTPockets slabs jigging for them has produced results. Crappie continue to be slow, having to hit several spots to get the hotties and the thumps are lighter. Use a longer rod with Lone Star Crappie Jigs and Stunna jigs, smaller jigs and pitching has had some success.. Minnows have made a bigger impact on catching in 12 to 29 feet of water on or close to structures. Finding a thermocline in 30-35 feet of water.
