GREAT. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.02 feet above pool. Lake Conroe is fishing well with warm summer patterns fully in effect. Catfish are biting strong over baited holes using Catfish Bubblegum, liver, worms, and classic stinkbait, while drifting flats with cut shad or shrimp is producing steady numbers and the occasional big blue. Crappie are fair to poor, holding tight to brush piles and submerged timber in 15-25 feet, with slow minnows or jigs working best. Largemouth bass are active on deeper structure in 10-20 feet and schooling early and late around shad pods – perfect for crankbaits, swimbaits, or topwaters. Bream (bluegill and sunfish) are excellent from 1-20 feet around docks, rocks, and brush, with worms and crickets being to producers. Whether you’re fishing shallow or deep, now is a great time to get on the water! Report by Bradly Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Hybrid stripers are hitting slabs, spoons, and live shad on flats and drop-offs in 14-30 feet. Use the Outdoor Annual app to ID juvenile hybrids by the tooth patch. Always wear your life jacket.
