SLOW. Water stained; 74 degrees; 1.59 feet below pool. Water temperatures dipped near 70 degrees for a short bit and the fish seemed to love it! Fish started moving to their cooler weather areas, and were hungry! As usual for cooler water, catches of bigger eaters with the occasional trophy mixed in is possible on Catfish Bubblegum, liver and cut bream. Report by Brad Doyle, Bradley’s Guide Service. Bass have become more active with the changing weather. Vegetation and structures around creek channels north of the FM 1097 bridge will be productive in 4-6 feet of water using Texas-rigged worms, wacky worms, craws, and shallow-running crankbaits. Shakyhead jigs with dark 8-inch worms have also shown good results, along with Carolina rigs for fishing rocks and small structures in the 9-14 feet range. Lipless crankbaits are proving effective around boathouses and brush piles where they are chasing schools of shad. Report by Bryan Brawner, Lake Conroe Charters. Hybrids are schooling in 13-23 feet of water on points and flats trolling with a pet spoon and a diver, or jigging with MTPockets slabs or large minnows. Please check the tooth patch for a white versus hybrids. Crappie are slow in 12-21 feet near structure using Lone Star Crappie Jigs, Stunna jigs, or minnows. Expect to fish in many spots to get the hotties, and the thumps have been better this week. Always wear your life jacket. Report by Mike Cason, Fishical Therapy Lake Conroe Guide.
