A Willis community will soon have an expansive amenity center complex, which includes walking trails, pickleball and bocce ball courts, a fitness center and an art studio.
Rockrose Ranch, a 170-acre master-planned community off Interstate 45 and Calvary Road, held its grand opening in March.

The 700-unit manufactured home community broke ground on the new amenity center complex on November 3 and is expected to bring amenities for both its active adult community for residents age 55 and older and all-ages community.
“(The 55 and older active adult community) are the ones who get most of the amenities at the center,” said Matthew McCaughey, general manager of the community.
The new amenity center complex is expected to be built by August 2024, according to a release.
What is included at the amenity center complex?
The community includes two sections: an active adult community for residents age 55 and older and an all-ages community. Amenities for the all ages community include walking trails, a family-friendly pool, a dog park, playground and a picnic pavilion, the release states.
For the gated 55 and older community, residents can enjoy a heated lap pool, pickleball and bocce ball courts, and The Farmhouse, which will include a fitness center, art studio and social gathering areas.

The pickleball and bocce ball courts are almost built, McCaughey said.
With the pickleball and bocce ball courts near complete, residents have already planned tournaments this December, the release states.
“We try to hold events for (residents),” McCaughey said. “But before we had a chance to hold events, for example, some of the residents got together and they’re putting on like bocce ball clinics in preparation for these tournaments. So, they’re pretty stoked about these courts.”
Other amenities at the community
The 55 and older community will also have a dedicated lifestyle director that will coordinate a full schedule of activities, including yoga, dancing, hikes, and arts and crafts, the release states. A just under 2 miles from Lake Conroe, the community also offers waters sports, fishing and boating.
“When it comes to amenities, our goal is to bring the same level of quality to Rockrose Ranch that you’ll find in popular master-planned communities across town,” said Rick Andreen, CEO of Inspire Communities, in a written statement. “Rockrose Ranch offers unequaled value to our customers.”
