As students in Conroe ISD prepare to return to school in August, the district has provided resources to help families get ready for the 2025-26 school year

The overview

All grades will have their first day of school Aug. 13, according to the district’s calendar. Beginning Aug. 13, students may not use personal communication and electronic devices during the school day in accordance with Texas House Bill 1481, the district shared on social media.

Exceptions will be given to students covered under a Section 504 plan or an Individualized Education Program that includes cellphone access as an accommodation, according to the district.

CISD’s policy changes follow the passing of HB 1481, which mandates that school districts adopt policies banning the use of personal communication devices during the school day.
