Splendora ISD officials have released designs for a new junior high school as part of a $201 million bond package, which includes two gyms, a dance studio and more space for band.Â
The school is expected to open for the 2025-26 school year and will hold a maximum of 1,250 students. It will open in the Presswoods subdivision, near Splendora Junior High School.

“We’re very excited about (the junior high school),” Splendora ISD superintendent Jeff Burke. “It’s going to be a beautiful facility. And it’s exciting that we’re continuing to grow. We want to make sure our kids have the best facilities.”Â
The junior high school is part of the 2022 bond package, which also includes funds to expand the high school to increase capacity to 2,100 students, build new campuses for Peach Creek Elementary and Greenleaf Elementary and purchase land for future facilities.Â
In August, the district unveiled the designs for the two new elementary campus replacements as part of the 2022 bond package.
Peach Creek Elementary’s campus is south of the city along Tram Road and Greenleaf Elementary’s campus is in the Pinewood Trails subdivision, north of the city.Â

The replacement campuses are expected to replace the aging campuses currently used and are slated to open for the 2025-26 school year.Â
The district is expecting significant growth in the next 10 years as new housing subdivisions are built in the area, including developments across the street from its high school and junior high.
More than 5,000 students are enrolled, with district officials expecting that number to reach 8,000 students by 2026. By 2031, the district anticipates having 14,000 students enrolled.Â
Officials are reinstating the community bond steering committee to put together another bond package for 2025, Burke said previously.Â
