After a month off for travel and vacations, the WOW (Women of Waterford) Plus Book Club gathered at the home of Marie and David Underdown for our usual evening of fun, frolic and friendship (and we even discussed the book a little bit too!)  Joining the Underdowns (David was our bartender!) were Karen Dwyer, Susan Greer, Cyndi Garner, Betsy Himmel and Terry Pool.

The read for July was “When We Were Innocent” by Kate Hewitt.  According to the book cover: “You love your father with all your heart.  But what if he’s not who you think he is?  What if he’s kept an unforgivable secret from you his whole life?”  Although not a “happy” book, we all agreed that it was well written, and it definitely held our interest.

Our book for August is Alice Feeney’s “Rock Paper Scissors” , a mystery novel that centers around a man with chronic prosopagnosia – a condition where a person cannot see distinguishing features on faces, including the sufferers own face. According to Real Simple – “Feeney lives up to her reputation as the ‘queen of the twist’…This page turner will keep you guessing.”  Sound intriguing? Then plan on joining our casual little group. We will meet next on Monday, August 28th at 6 pm at the Underdown abode.  We would love to have you!  Contact me for directions.  Of course, WOW’s can just mosey down the street!  See you then!
