Last month bunches of WOWs (Women of Waterford) traveled across the street to El Bosque to celebrate the birthdays of three very special gals.

Happy 29th birthday wishes to Leslie Brady, Carol Luft and Cathy Jorge.  Congratulations and hope you have many, many more!

The WOW Plus Book Club met once again at the Underdown home to discuss our pick for March, the World War II book “Flying Angels: A Novel” by Danielle Steele.  We all agreed that the book was enjoyable, an easy read and that we learned things about what things were like in England during the early part of the war.  We also all agreed that we love our little book club!  Joining me that evening were WOWS Karen Dwyer and Debbie Morse and Plusses Susan Greer, Cyndi Garner and Terry Poole.

Our April choice is entitled “Tom Lake” written by Ann Patchett.  “Ann Patchett’s novel is written from the protagonist Lara Nelson’s first-person point of view.  Set in 2020 during the height of the COVID- pandemic, the narrative takes place over the course of Lara’s, her husband Joe’s, and their three daughters’ lockdown together.  After the lockdown is enforced, Lara and Joe’s three grown daughters Emily, Maisie and Nell find themselves back home on their family farm in Traverse City, Michigan.  Emily always wanted to take over the farm and even received a degree in horticulture.  Masie and Nell, however, have different plans for their future.”

Sound intriguing?  Then pick up a copy and plan on joining us!  We would love to have you!
