Were you out celebrating the last day of January?  No?!!  Well neither was I am I can bet that can be said for all of us living in Waterford Estates.  And I can’t believe that we missed this National Holiday.  Actually, I did not even know about this holiday until Robyn Scharlach sent me an email explaining that every January 31st is National Backwards Day!

A little background:  National Backwards Day is a light hearted holiday that invites individuals of all ages to break free from the routine and engage in activities with a unique twist.  On this day, people may choose to wear their clothes backward, eat meals in reverse order (I like that one…dessert first!) or simply do everyday tasks in unconventional ways.  It’s all about having fun and thinking outside the box.

Here are some fun and quirky ideas to make the most of this holiday.
1. Wear your clothes backward or inside out. It’s a simple way to get into the spirit of the day.
2. Walk or move backward.  Challenge yourself to walk or move backward for a portion of your day.  Just be sure to do it safely!
3. Speak in reverse.  Try speaking sentences or phrases backwards with friends or family members.  It can lead to some amusing conversations.
4. Watch movies or read books backwards.  Select a movie or book and experience it in reverse order.  It might give you a fresh perspective on familiar stories.
5. Host a Backwards-themed party.  Invite friends over for a playful Backwards Day celebration.  Encourage them to dress up in backward attired and come up with some Backwards Games.

I know I missed this awesome holiday this year, but next year I will be all ydaer!
