Waterford Estates residents Marie and Dave Underdown traveled east on Hwy 105 to First Methodist Church-Conroe to join hundreds of other folks at Conroe Symphony Orchestra’s recent concert entitled “The Season to be Jolly”.  It was tremendous!  The church was so full that it was hard to find a place to sit, but finally we did, and we were thrilled!

Led by Conductor Gary Liebel, the many talented musicians enthralled us with offerings such as “A Christmas Festival and “The Polar Express.”  Bill Thompson did an excellent job as Master of Ceremonies, explaining the history behind some of these much beloved seasonal favorites.

This concert also featured a Guest Vocalist.  Kenneth Gayle, a tenor whose national credits include performances with Lyric Opera of Chicago and Seattle Opera, entertained us with favorites such as “Ave Maria” and “O Holy Night.”  What a wonderful voice!

Then, to top off the evening, audience members joined  together to: “Sing We Joyous, A Christmas Sing-A-Long”.  Thanks to everyone involved in proving once again that you don’t have to travel all the way to Houston to experience awe inspiring performances!
