Dave and Marie Underdown once again traveled east on Hwy 105 from Waterford Estates but this time to join hundreds of Montgomery County citizens to enjoy the Conroe Symphony Orchestra’s Fall Concert “With a Latin Flair”. Â Wow! Â Â Those of us in the audience wanted to get up and dance to such lively pieces as Blue Tango, Congo del Fuego Nuevo and La Cumbanchero. Â And then, to add to the fun of the evening, Guest Vocalist Ermelinda Cuellar awed us with such delights as Girl from Ipanema and La Paloma. Â
Such a display of talent!  From Gary Liebst – Conductor, Bill Thompson- Master of Ceremonies and Ms. Cueller to all of the  very, very talented orchestra musicians:  It just goes to prove that you don’t have to travel all the way down to Houston to enjoy a quality performance!

Then the following Monday, the WOW (Women of Waterford) Plus Book Club met at the home of Marie to discuss the book for October “West with Giraffes” by Lynda Rutledge.  This novel is part adventure, part historical saga and part coming-of-age love story that explores what it means to be changed by the grace of animals, the kindness of strangers, the passing of time, and a story told before it’s too late.  Most of us at the gathering thought the book was not only educational and interesting but also heart-warming.  Joining Marie that evening was WOW Debbie Morse and Pluses Betsy Himmel, Susan Greer, Cyndi Garner and Terry Pool. Â
Our selection for November is a #1 New York Times bestseller entitled “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus.  According to the book jacket “Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman.  In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman.  Laugh-out-loud funny, shrewdly observant, and studded with a dazzling cast of supporting characters, “Lessons in Chemistry” is as original and vibrant as its protagonist.  Sound intriguing?  Then plan on getting a copy, read it (if you have time, if not come anyway!) and join us on Monday, November 27th at 6 pm.  We would love to have you!
