I have heard so many wonderful stories about residents of Walden helping their neighbors before, during and after the flooding event. It is a wonderful neighborhood we live in with so many caring folks looking out for one another. My thanks go out to my neighbors John Rau, Don Mitchell, John McReynolds and to Todd Kiefer for checking in with me and offering any needed assistance. I know there were many others through out the Walden Community that did the same for their neighbors. Thank you all!
There has been many Waldenites traveling all over the states and into other countries. I so enjoy the shared experiences by Russell & Linda Bliese, Sharon Richardson & Richard Malone in Ireland & Scotland. Cruising couple Brenda & Roy Badgett traveling through the Panama Canal all the way to Seattle. Laurie & Mark Schmidt traveling all over the states. I truly think all of these fine folks were very happy with their various journeys and were equally happy to come back to the great state of Texas. As Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home”. Welcome back!
Montgomery schools will be breaking soon for the summer. I believe the last day this school year is May 22nd. This means we will have more kiddos playing out and about the neighborhood so please take special efforts with you speed and safety while driving our streets. I wish all the students a wonderful summer break full of fun activities in and around the lake.Â
I have a special shout out to my great-granddaughter who is graduating from kindergarten on Friday. She is looking forward to tending the chickens, gathering their eggs, gathering vegetables from the garden, swimming, and all the wonders of living the country life.
The CIA and WSN are busy planning the activities for the 4th of July. I am excited to announce that the Grand Marshal for the parade will be Jodi Christi. I am sure most of you know Jodi from her long time presence at the Yacht Club, Lakeview Dining and the Breakwater Grill. It is amazing how much she as contributed to making Walden a fun place to live. Our theme this year will be Proud to be an American.
The parade will be on the 4th this year so come join the fun!
