Hello Fellow Waldenites!

I would like to thank Rita Hinds for sharing some of the details of Ginny D’Amico’s surprise birthday party last Sunday. Ginny’s children and Peter Livingston hosted the celebration at Bar Lago. The venue was packed with her family and friends from the Walden area. Her three daughters, her son and their families were all in attendance.  
The weather was beautiful with a slight breeze so many attendees sat outside on the Patio. Everyone enjoyed the food, birthday cake and then raised a glass to toast the honoree. Happy Birthday Ginny!

The Golf Club hosted their Pastel Open Couples Tournament last week. Congrats to the pastel players in the winners circle! 1st gross- George Heines, Anna Emmons, Craig Doyal, Amy Doyal and 1st net- Reed George, Dana George, Mike Facker, Cindy Facker. Keep the look out for the next couples tournament. They are always lots of fun, win, lose or draw.

April’s Pacesetters Interclub was hosted by April Sound last Thursday and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!  Sixteen Niners participated in the tournament and Walden was well represented in the winner’s circle.  Wilma Goudie and Susan Phillips (1st), Sue Chiodo (2nd), Janice L Cottrell (3rd), Robin Garnett (4th) and Rebecca Davis (5th).  There were only 5 teams winning so Walden was very well represented at this Interclub.  Lunch was delicious and everyone received a door prize and several Niners won a raffle prize. Couldn’t hope for any better results, congratulations ladies.

Here’s a couple of reminders for upcoming events:

WSN will be hosting the annual Spring Festival on Sunday April 28th from 12:00-3:00 at the Racquet Club and Fitness Center. Andre will be performing live music. There will be  face painters and balloon artists for the kids. There will be games of all shapes and sizes with prizes. Hot dogs, hamburgers and the fixings will be available starting at 12:00 and continue until we run out.
The Friends of the Conroe Symphony Orchestra’s Kentucky Derby Fundraiser is coming up very soon! The event will be held on Saturday, May 4th 3PM to 7 PM.
