I can honestly say there was an exceptional turnout for this year’s Easter Egg hunt. Jon Forde, the official events photographer for the WSN, did an outstanding job capturing all the fun of the event. I hear that folks were asking where and how they can volunteer to help in the community events such as this one. If you are interested in lending hand in any or all of the functions the WSN is involved in please send your information via the waldenonlakeconroe.com website. Under the Contact tab you will see a volunteer form.

Carolyn Shulman and her crew of volunteers put together a very memorable Niner Member/Member tournament on Wednesday April 3rd. The theme was “Glamping”. This, not in the know, person had to do a bit of research on the theme. I am neither a camper nor a glamorous individual. The response these ladies turned up with was hilarious. There were costumes that covered ever aspect of both categories! Best costume award went to Barbara Shepherd & Judy Nichols dressed like bird watching fisher persons? Best cart decorations went to Lisa Kintigh & Rebecca Davis, their cart had delightful decorations all around and a stuffed animal sitting in a lawn chair atop the cart.

Oh, I almost forgot, we also played some golf! Lisa Kintigh & Rebecca Davis won the annual Net Tournament over-all. The flighted winners are: 1st Flight – Jean Smith & Karla Seidule, 2nd Flight –  Rebecca Davis & Lisa Kintigh, 3rd Flight – Meredith Wedin & Nancy Pigott. Fran and Derry Copland, Yogi Bear and an anonymous individual sponsored our closest to the pins on the three par threes. Closest to the pin winners are #12 – Erin Williams, #14 – Linda Bliese & #17 – Sue Chiodo.

A great big THANK YOU to Carolyn Shulman for making this such an outstanding event!

I noted that I left off some pretty important information last week about the Friends of the Conroe Symphony Orchestra’s Kentucky Derby Fundraiser! The event will be held on Saturday, May 4th 3PM to 7 PM. Get ready to don your finest derby attire and experience the thrill of the races while supporting the arts in our community. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a difference and have a fabulous time doing it! Reserve your tickets or sponsor now: https://conroesymphony.org.
