The weekend was full of wonderful ways to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. 

Lorraine Counts hosted her annual gathering of friends celebrating the day. Saturday evening, over 65 folks, most clad in various shades of green, turned out to enjoy good food, good friends and some very interesting holiday attire! Lorraine is always the hostess with the mostest. Her boyfriend, John Montgomery, shined as he helped host the lively crowd. I didn’t stay long enough to hear who won best in costume, but my money was on Dasher. He was such a handsome pup in his green tie and beads. He is such a good boy too.

On Sunday, the golf course hosted their Green Couples Open Tournament and congratulations go to the winners: 1st Gross – Keith Russell, Diane Gunn, Al Dibens & Karen Dibens. 1st Net – Michael DiTore, Chrystal Becker, Michael Brittain & Tina Brittain, 2nd Net – Brannon King, Melissa King, Brian King & Emma King.

The WLGA-9 had their Aces competition on Wednesday followed by an outstanding luncheon hosted by Claire Harris with Jean Smith as her co-host. Claire and Dave Harris have a beautiful golf course/water front home on signature Hole #11. We welcomed a new Niner, Judy Nichols. She is new to Walden and a wonderful addition to our group!

Congratulations go to our winners: Carolyn Shulman with a gross score of 52 and Linda Sustman with a net score of 30! Way to go ladies. Wilma Goudie got closest to the pin on 17 and she and Kerry Moravec tied with 16 putts.

There will be pictures with the Easter Bunny on Saturday March 30th starting at 10:00 AM and the Egg hunt will begin at 11:00 sharp. Hot Dogs, Cookies and Lemonade will follow. All of these events will be located at the Walden Racquet Club. 

There will be an Easter Day Brunch at Lakeview Dining on Sunday, March 31st from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Adults are $48 per person, children 7-11 years old eat for $24, 4-6 year olds eat for $12 and 0-3 years old eat free. Reservations suggested.

Just a Reminder – The Board of Trustee monthly meeting will be held on March 27th at 7:00 PM downstairs at the Yacht Club. 

The WCIA Offices will be closed on Good Friday March 29th.
