The Niners played their Ace day game on Wednesday the 21st. Congratulations go to our winners, Rebecca Davis with a gross score of 51, Robin Garnett with a net score of 35, Lisa Kintigh won closest to the pin and Rebecca also won putts with 14. Way to go ladies. The ladies then out did themselves at the luncheon hosted by Meredith Wedin and co-host Nancy Pigott. The weather was wonderful and the food delicious. As it has been said, “Nothing could be finer than to be a Walden Niner”!

One of the members of the Niners group, Erin Williams, not only plays a very nice game of golf but is truly a delightful and inspiring young lady. Erin and her husband Nick have three beautiful sons. The Williams story and their journey is well documented on the website downforacure.com. They along with co-founders are making a difference in the lives of many families effected by Cystic Fibrosis and/or Down Syndrome.

Throughout the year the founders participate in many events to raise awareness about CF and Down Syndrome.  In addition, they use the money raised to donate to research and programs supported by the Rocky Mountain CF Chapter, Texas Golf Coast CF Chapter, Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association, and Special Olympics.
They are also in the position to help individual families that need support.  It is their goal to be able to help those in need and raise awareness for these diseases through community involvement and continued education.

In 2024 they will be hosting their biggest fundraisers, the Williams Family Drive Fore a Cure Golf Outings.  Their first will be held in Texas at Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club on Monday, April 1st. This will be their 9th tournament and 3rd here in Texas. They will also host a second tournament for 2024 which will take place at a new venue in Windsor, Colorado at Pelican Lakes Resort and Golf on August 10th. These tournaments have proven to be a fun day to gather together and raise awareness for their great cause. Information about this great organization and the various ways to help support their cause can be found on downforacure.com.

I am certain they would love for you to check out their website and join in one or all of their fund raisers.
