The Walden Community Improvement Association proudly recognized Ron Carroll as its’ Citizen of the Year. Ron is a distinguished individual who has generously dedicated his time and skills to the betterment of our community and Montgomery County.
With unwavering commitment, he has served as the Parish Administrator for St. Mary’s Catholic Church for an impressive span of over 15 years. His passion for advocacy extended to his role as a Casa Volunteer, where he tirelessly worked as a child advocate for more than 5 years.
Ron’s commitment to the Walden community was further demonstrated by his dedicated service on the WCIA Finance Committee for over 3 years. In 2019, he ran for and was elected to the Board, embarking on a journey that is seeing him serve his second consecutive 3-year term as a Board Trustee for WCIA.
In the face of unprecedented challenges, including the financial repercussions of the Covid-19 shutdown, extreme weather conditions, and escalating inflation, Ron has exhibited exceptional leadership as the Treasurer of the WCIA. His diligent fiscal fortitude and financial acumen have been crucial in navigating the community through these uncertain times. Collaborating with fellow Board Members, various General Managers, the accounting staff, and the Finance Committee, Ron has played a pivotal role in ensuring that the Walden Community not only endures but thrives as a premier and fiscally sound community that we all cherish.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for his selfless dedication and invaluable contributions during his tenure as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. His enduring legacy of fiscal responsibility and community service truly makes him a beacon of inspiration for us all.
I want to thank Alex Letaif for preparing the writeup and assisting with the presentation to Ron at the meeting.
