It is Thursday morning and I am sitting here looking out at the lake after days and days of rain. The lake level this morning is 204.12 and the waters are being released at 19,435Â CFS. I pray that my fellow neighbors will weather this rain event without damage to their property.Â
It is wonderful to see and hear about all the folks here helping with water craft that is floating by their property. I have someone’s jet ski on my security whips that my good neighbor captured on its way to who knows where. He and his wife are trying to contact the owner to advise them of its new secured location. There are many stories like this of folks helping secure boats and other water crafts all around the lake. If there is a silver lining to this story it is that we got all this rain after we had such a hard freeze. I hate to even think of how bad the conditions would have been if this occurred during subfreezing temperatures. Would that be called a blizzard?

Wednesday a bunch of the Niners met at Café on the Green for lunch and to finally get pictures of the Board and Committee Chairs. We’ve been trying for a photo opportunity all month but bad weather got in our way. I think we were all getting a little cabin fever so it was a great way to get together and catch up with each other.
I had the pleasure of being a member of the Act Review for the Follies. I can tell you that the 2024 Follies Unleashed program will be outstanding. So much talent in this community. Tickets are going on sell to the public starting February 1st. You can purchase your tickets online at waldenfollies40.com. You can also find contact information there if you have any questions.
The Ladies Association will be hosting their luncheon on Friday, February 2nd.  The program at this luncheon will feature country music singer Payton Howie. Ms. Howie was recently nominated Texas Regional Radio’s New Female Vocalist and the 2023 Texas Country Music Awards’ Emerging Artist of the Year. This promises to be an outstanding program. Feel free to dress up in your western wear and come enjoy the music. You all know the drill for making your reservations!
Everyone please say aloud – rain, rain go away.
