Greetings fellow Waldenites!

Hopefully everyone enjoyed your holiday even if you were the one in charge of the Thanksgiving feasting fun or if you got to enjoy a feast prepared by others.

I, on the other hand, weathered the holiday hunkered down with the cold that has been traveling around the neighborhood. I can honestly say I did not gain one pound during Thanksgiving. I did miss seeing family and friends in the hill country but it will just make Christmas even more special this year.

I need to give a shout out to the LCC Pro-am net winners – Ryan Payne, our Pro and team Yvonne Beatty, Julie Cameron, Diane Gunn and Kate Higby. Way to go!

Bright and early last Monday morning the following WSN Committee members traveled to the Yacht Club to decorate both upstairs and down for the coming Christmas season. The decorating was led by Carolyn Shulman and assisted by Debbie Schrader, Brenda & Roy Badgett, Linda & Scott Sustman, Paulie Geiselhart, John & Gaby Tryon, and Howard & Peggy Catlett.

I would also like to thank Patty McKenzie. Patty volunteered to help with this year’s decorating and the WSN is delighted that she has agreed to become a member of the WSN Committee. Welcome aboard.

The Ladies Association of Walden led by Jean Mason once again sponsored a food donation at the December meeting. This is a very special tradition of LAW. Their drive benefits Montgomery United Methodist Church who houses the Montgomery Food Pantry. They sought donations that concentrated on foods that would help families celebrate Christmas.

For all members of the community that would also like to make food donations:

The pantry is located on Highway 105 across from the high school. It is the little building situated at the rear of the church’s parking lot. Montgomery Food Pantry is a distribution center for the Montgomery County Food Bank. Distributions are every 1st and 3rd Friday and Saturday of the month from 9 am to 11 am. They service approximately 250 families, 780 people every distribution period. Doing the math, that is approximately 500 families, 1560 people per month. Clients are local families. Remember all donations are needed and appreciated all year long.

We are entering the season of giving, please donate to a charity of your choice.
