I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.Â
You might have noticed our maintenance crew putting up decorations along Walden Road. This week you will see even more going up at the entry and at the Yacht club. All in preparation of the Walden Christmas festivities planned for this Saturday.
Saturday, Dec 2nd, will offer  Breakfast with Santa featuring a Breakfast Buffet starting at 9 a.m. and will be available at $12 for adults and $7 for children under 10. If you would like to attend the Breakfast, please reserve your spot by calling 936-582-4222.  Pictures with Santa start at 11 a.m.Â
The Christmas Tree Lighting event will be bigger and better this year with the festivities starting at 5:30 p.m., downstairs at the Yacht Club, and will include having the kids decorate cookies, necklaces and homemade ornaments that they can hang on the tree. Â The actual tree lighting should take place around 7 p.m.
There are many other events in and around Walden to help bring in the Christmas Season. Here are just a few events that should be enjoyable for all the family:Â
Thanks to Rhonda Kadlubar for sharing this information: The Friends of the Library group from Charles B. Stewart West Branch Library is having their annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Silent Auction which began on Nov. 13. Â The Christmas Open House with refreshments will be for the public on Dec. 4 from 3-6 pm. Â Santa will be available for pictures with the children from 4-5:30 pm. Â (Bidding ends at 5:30 pm) Please stop by the library to bid on a tree or wreath and celebrate with us. Â 202 Bessie Price Owen Drive, Montgomery,
I also thank Jackie St Cyr for providing the following details: Â Members of the Walden Ladies Association have been offered a special opportunity to attend the latest Conroe Symphony performance at First Methodist Church at 2:30 on Dec. 16. Tickets for the Christmas show is being offered at the special price of $16.00 and must be purchased by Dec. 12. Guests (including husbands!) are welcome. Â If you have not had the pleasure of attending these events, you are in for a real treat. Â Special guest soloist will be tenor Kenneth Gayle. Â This is not a “highbrow” concert, but really something for all (including children) to enjoy.
