The Follies Reunion was held Friday September 8th where it was announced that Brenda Badgett will be Director, Lorraine Counts will be the Assistant Director, Jan Zarembo Smith and Robert Hubbard will be the shows Technical Directors for the 2024 performances.

After the reunion, I spent the rest of the weekend at Surfside with a dozen North Shore High School friends. What a hoot. It is amazing how the years just melt away when you get amongst long time school friends. I would like to point out that I was the big winner of the Left, Right & Center game. I get to take that fun fact back with me next year, defending my championship, and I will be armed with a whole bunch of their quarters!

While I was away there was a lot of golfing going on here in Walden. I want to extend a big thank you to Jean Smith who shared some of last weekend’s golf information.  The WLGA hosted its two-day Member/Member tournament. Congratulations go to first flight winners: Amy Doyle & Anna Emmons and the second flight winners: Debbie Senkbeil & Suzanne Walsh.

The Scotch Cup followed right after the last day of the Member/Member tournament.
Barbara Cortier/Steven Barrett won, Anna Emmons/Trent Eckel placed and Amy Doyal/Stephen Backham showed. I’ve never played the Scotch Cup but it sounds a bit like a horse race to me!

The WLGA-9 Travel and Special Outings Committee gurus Linda Sustman & Janice Cottrell did a great job setting up an outing to Northgate Country Club this past Wednesday. Northgate is our sister course. Since we were not able to play Walden on Wednesday and because several of the ladies had never played Northgate it seemed like a perfect choice. It did not disappoint the group. We stayed after for lunch at their restaurant and everyone loved the food. Way to go ladies!

Last week I reported that Walden CIA is implementing a new platform set to go online by the end of this month. One of the changes is already in effect. If you made a charge at one of Walden’s amenities you may have seen the charge showing as Walden Community Improvement Association. I noticed this after dining at Lakeview Dining.
You will hear more as additional changes go into effect!
