The nice thing about Walden is the various organizations that allow new friendships and getting to know new neighbors. I had the pleasure, a couple of weeks ago, to play 9 holes of golf with
Hebe Brooks. She casually mentioned to me that she was an artist. Well here comes one of those bright spotlights on Hebe. I looked her up on the internet and it was so enlightening to learn of the artistic skills of this lovely lady. Hebe is a current member of several artists’ associations including the International Guild of Realism (IGOR), a Master Artist of The National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society (NOAPS), a Signature Artist of the American Women Artists Organization (AWA), an Elected Member of the American Artists Professional League (AAPL) and Signature Artist of both the National Society of Artists and the Texas & Neighbors Organization. Volunteering for art related activities to increase art awareness is also one of Hebe’s priorities and she is a Board Member for NOAPS and an active docent at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Art writers have recognized Hebe’s work in several publications and her work has been included in catalogs, in the Important Artists of the World Juried publication, and in all the nationally recognized art magazines. Articles about her art were published in the American Art Collector Magazine, the International Artist Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine and Fine Art Connoisseur. Her art has won multiple national awards and it is part of many private and public collections. You can find representations of her work and more details at
https://ArtbyHebe.com. Her work is outstanding. Oh, and she is lots of fun to golf with too!

Speaking golf, the Club had their
Red, White and Blue
tournament last Sunday and the most consistent comments I heard were related to the heat. I do believe everyone had fun but I also think the high temperatures were brutal. I didn’t get full names of the team members but here are the posted results:
Kraulis/Heines/Doyal/Emmons
won 1st Gross,
Thompson/Ryan-Powell/Vogel
won 1st Net, and teams
Bliese/Page,
King/King
and
Russell/Gunn/Dibens
tied for 2nd net. Congrats to all the winners.

Zona Taylor
hosted a lovely dinner Monday evening that served also as birthday celebrations for
Debbie Kerr
and
Jean Smith. She served an excellent meal and the birthday cards were hilarious.

Enjoy your week,
