Social Lites – Panorama Village

Hope everyone is prepared for some cold weather! Be sure to have your pipes covered, your plants protected and your pets inside. If the streets are icy, please drive safely. Watch the weather reports and if possible, stay home!

I’m sure many of you attended the Texan Football Watch Party at Panorama Golf Club last night. Hope the outcome of the game was what you wanted. There are a lot of events coming up around Panorama. Karaoke Night with Jeremy Lamont will be January 31, from 7 to 10 pm. Lots of people show up for a good time and sometimes a star is born!  The Friday Night Feature will be Gumbo with Garlic Bread on January 19. The next week, Friday, January 26, the Feature Meal will be Lasagna, Salad Bar and Garlic Bread. Every Tuesday night is Wings Night with 25% off and 50 Cents off all drinks during Happy Hour which is 5 to 7 pm.

February will include many activities. The President’s Day Golf Tournament on February 19, will be a Three Person Scramble. Registration is at 8 am with a Shotgun Start at 9:30. Lunch, a Silent Auction with $5 Mulligans and an optional $100 Players Pool will be available. A Gumbo Cookoff will take place March 16. Liberty Belles Republican Women held their January lunch meeting on January 11, 2024 at the Clubhouse. Almost a hundred people attended the forum for candidates for Sheriff (Rand Henderson, Kenton Ford and Wesley Doolittle) and  Justice for the 9th Court of Appeals (Kenna Seiler and Kent Chambers). They each spoke about their lives including their backgrounds, families, education, reasons for running and plans if elected. The purpose for the forum was to help educate voters in our area. There will be other opportunities to learn more about the candidates running in the March 5 election.

For voting you must be registered to vote by February 5, 2024. You may Vote Early February 20 – March 1, 2024. The closest place to Panorama for early voting is the community center at 600 Gerald Street in Willis. Voting information can be found at Election Central online.
