Do you feel like your yard is burning to a crisp and yet you are not sure how much you need to water? Do you wish you had some advice on how much water you should use? You can go to www.WaterMyYard.org and find out. You will have to create an account, answer a few questions about your irrigation system, and WaterMyYard will send you watering advice on how long to run your sprinkling system. This information can keep you from overwatering and will save you money on your water bill. You’ll also be conserving our water resources. This website will help you take the  guesswork out of the problem. WaterMyYard is a free program of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service under the direction of Dr. Guy Fipps, conducted in partnership with water districts, cities, and public utilities.

There is a wonderful “Frequently Asked Questions” section that seems to answer most any questions you might have on the background of the program, how to get started, and taking the guesswork out of knowing when and how much to water. You will receive automated emails or text messages to let you know how much water your landscape actually requires, based on local weather conditions. It would be interesting if any of you Readers would try this program and let me know how it works so I could pass it on to others.

Believe it or not, there are many golfers each day out on Panorama‘s course. The Niners have continued to play, although with not as many players as usual. Tuesday, Pat Northey was the winner of the Low Net and Maria Lundgren was the winner of Low Putts. I know this group is very careful about keeping hydrated. PWGA, member, Marian Leighty, was their winner of the Low Net Over the Field and Chip Ins were made by V.J. Derrington, Karen, Morgan, and Marian Leighty.

The next Couples Scramble will be held Sept. 24,so check with the pro shop for information on that tournament. The MGA’s next two tournaments will be Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.  Aerification for the golf course will be Aug. 7 and 8.

If you receive the Panorama Golf Course emails, you probably noticed that a lot of tournaments and activities have been taking place. Friday the “Dueling Pianos” returned along with a Chicken Fried Chicken Buffet. Their previous performance was well received, and there were requests for them to return. Thanks Jenny for listening!  You may have noticed that Tuesdays are now Wings Night as well as Game Day. Come between 5 and 7 o’clock to enjoy your favorite wings. The next Friday Special will be Spaghetti with Meatballs, Salad Bar, and Garlic Bread. There are many opportunities for golf events, food, and other activities so come and enjoy the clubhouse and golf course.
