Last week I promised to report more of the volunteers that helped with the July 4 activities Susie Martensen chaired the Bake Off Contest. Her lucky committee included Jo and Rich Broome, Max Martensen and Daphne Cox who also gave computer aid. Charlotte Belin was the Pageant Judge Chair and those judges were Bernie and Melissa Sergeant and Charlotte. Mary Lu Divilbiss and Vickie Modeland also helped the little participants in the Pageant. Susie Sanders chaired the Parade and Mayor Scott chaired the Fireworks Display. We are still talking about the fun everyone had so If you know other volunteers let me know so we can thank them for a great Fourth of July!
There are still tarps on many roofs awaiting repairs from the last big storms that left homes with damage. Those storms left many trees down in Panorama. Power outages lately have encouraged more residents to consider home generators. Nextdoor and Panorama Village Alternative to Next Door have had lots of discussions about generators with some interesting information that could be helpful if considering purchasing one.
Even though the thermometer is showing extremely hot days there are still many golfers on the course. PWGA Ruby Hefner was the Low Net Over the Field winner last week. Kim, Denise, Dana, and Marsue all had Birdies. The Niners are preparing to go to Elkins Lake on July 27, for an Interclub Tournament. Tuesday the Low Putts winners were First Flight Arlene Hallers, Second Flight Maria Lundgren, Third Flight Sue Redman and Low Gross winners were First Flight Arlene Hallers, Second Flight Tammy Billingsley, and Third Flight Sue Redman. The Niners welcome Maria Lundgren to their group.
The upcoming Friday Night Features are: July 21 Creamy Lemon Piccata Over Angel Hair Pasta, July 28 Ribeye, Steak, Garlic Marinated Grilled Shrimp, Scallop Potatoes and Salad Bar, August 2 Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and Green Beans.
