One of of the best things about Panorama Village is its small town feeling even though we’re just minutes from the freeway. July 4, is a great example of that feeling. For weeks ahead of time, residents begin preparation for all the activities for the day of July 4. Even before the fourth, the Panorama Lions Club puts out the American flags as part of their patriotic fundraiser. Early on the fourth, the Bake Off Contest registration began in the clubhouse.

The lucky judges began their work and selections for awards were made. Next came the Mr./Miss Panorama Pageant, well attended by all parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors. The annual Panorama Parade began at 11 am in front of City Hall. This year the parade was led by the Mounted Police each on a beautiful horse. Following were decorated vehicles and approximately forty golf tournament carts with riders, tossing candy to the large crowd along the parade route. There were even a few bikers who braved the long ride winding through the city and back to City Hall. The pool was open free for those who wanted to swim. There were water slides, and children related activities in the parking lot. Many took advantage of a train ride from noon to 4 pm. The Panorama Lions Club offered free hotdogs in the pavilion area. Of course donations were gladly accepted! From noon to 7:30 pm there was food available in the clubhouse, and many enjoyed liquid refreshments from the bar. Between 7- 9:20 the Jeremy Lamont Band performed live music in front of the clubhouse. There was even dancing in the streets! Mayor Lynn Scott, welcomed the crowd and recognized the award winners for the day.
