No time for a church service on Ash Wednesday? Get your “Ashes to Go” at Tree of Life Lutheran Church on Wednesday, February 14 from 7:00am-4:00pm. Volunteers will assist with a drive through event at 3201 N. Loop 336. If you choose the traditional service that too will be offered at 7:00pm at the same location.
West Side Story is performed live at the Crighton Theatre Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Feb. 25 with an amazing cast of experienced actors. This is a classic musical romantic drama with two gang rivalry groups in New York’s West Side. Get tickets at CrightonTheatre.org. Don’t Miss this!
The Conroe Go Texan Parade is Saturday, Feb 17 starting at 1:00pm throughout the streets of downtown Conroe. Be closed to traffic earlier in the day and through 4pm. After the parade, hurry over to the Western theme music from the Conroe Symphony Orchestra starting at 2:30pm at First Methodist Conroe, 4308 W. Davis Street.
Friday evening, Feb 23, Congressman Morgan Luttrell will have his Red, White, and Blue Rally event at Honor Cafe starting at 5:00pm. There is no fee, and it is open to the public, but RSVP is required: https://bit.ly/493bxpN. Stop by, have a snack, and speak to Congressman Luttrell.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4709 in Conroe, is having their 2nd annual gala, “Red, White, and Boots” on Thursday, Feb 22 at The Springs Event Venue, 14135 Laramie Trail in Montgomery from 5-9pm. Admission is $75 and helps the veteran community and the community at large with a scholarship program, building repairs for their post, and their canteen (commercial kitchen) that is set up to assist with feeding in times of an emergency disaster. The building was constructed in the 70’s and recently had many costly repairs to their building. SSG Shilo A. It’s time to start planting trees! The Annual Arbor Day tree giveaway in Conroe will be Saturday, Feb. 24th from 8:00am -noon or when supplies run out. The tree seedlings are courtesy of the Texas A & M University Forest Service bagged by the Montgomery County Master Gardeners Association. The larger potted trees are donated by Trees for Texas. The event will be at Founder’s Park at the corner of Metcalf and Main by the Owen Theatre.
If you miss out on the tree giveaway, you can still get starter trees from the Montgomery County Master Gardeners Association at Arbor Day in Willis on Saturday, March 2 from 8:00am-1:00pm or until all trees are adopted.
