The Texas Custom Knife Show is Saturday, Nov 4 through Sunday, Nov 5 at the Lone Star Pavilion at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds featuring Forged in Fire Contestants and Champions, a Live Forging Contest, Tomahawk Throwing, and a Live Blade Sports Chop Contest. Family Promise is raising funds for homeless families with children at their Annual Fish Fry on Saturday, Nov 11 at the North Montgomery County Community Center in Willis from noon-3:00pm. The Nutcracker Holiday Extravaganza will be Nov 11 from 9:00am-5:00pm at the Lone Star Convention Center with vendors selling clothing, home décor, handmade crafts, and more. Get ready for Christmas!

Veterans Day events in Conroe. 

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park will host their Dedication of The Line, swearing in of new recruits to the Unites States Army, and the Groundbreaking of the new Education and Visitor Center at 9:00am Saturday, Nov. 11 at the park at 1776 Freedom Blvd in Conroe. 

The Mighty Oaks Foundation’s 22 for 22 shines a light on Veteran Suicide with a festival at Heritage Park starting at 8:00am. Every day, an estimated 22 Veterans commit suicide, underscoring the dire need for intervention and support for those battling Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). The 22 for 22 Challenge involves a series of 22 marathons completed over 22 days by Jeremy Stalnecker. 

The final marathon will conclude on Veteran’s Day, Saturday November 11 at 8 a.m., at Heritage Park. The public can join in the final run by signing up for a 5k, a 10k, or running the marathon with him. The day will be a family event, including food, bounce houses, and live worship music. www.mightyoaksprograms.org.

The 248th Marine Corps Birthday Ball will be in Panorama at the Golf Clubhouse open to any U.S. Marine Veteran, or anyone from the public for food, ceremony, music, and dancing hosted by the Eastex Detachment 779 Marine Corps League. Mcleastex.com
