For all the young Drama Queens and Kings, Monday, Oct 2 is open auditions from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the Crighton Theatre for Beauty and the Beast presented by Missoula Children’s Theatre. The performances will be Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Auditions are free but if cast a role (60 roles available) there is a $25 fee. Rehearsal is mandatory one week only Monday through Friday 4:30pm-9:00pm. This is open to youth Kindergarten through 12th grade. 

National Night Out is Tuesday, October 3, and a great time to meet your neighbors, the Conroe Police Department, Conroe Fire Department in the Kroger Parking lot at 341 South Loop 336 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with free food, music, and fun! This is a national initiative to fight crime by hosting a fun event that can connect families with local first responders. 

The Conroe Senior Dance is open to anyone 60 years of age and older on Friday nights from 6:30pm-9:30pm at the Vineyard Church, 1126 San Jacinto Street. Live bands for $5 per person at the door. 

School is out in Conroe Friday, October 6th and Monday, October 9th and parents have the option of Camp Fun Quest with the City of Conroe for 1st-6th graders at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center from 7am-6:30pm. Under the close supervision of trained Fun Quest Staff (12:1 camper/ staff ratio), campers will have the opportunity to participate in some great activities that include art, 4-H, game room, games, and more. Space is limited, so don’t miss out!

Did you know youth 16-18 years of age can participate in the Youth Citizens Academy with the Conroe Police Department? The Youth Academy offers area youth a “behind-the-scenes” working knowledge of the various aspects of the law enforcement community including patrol, crime scene investigation, K-9 Patrol, and SWAT. Applicants must be in good standing with the community and apply by October 6. Classes will be held Tuesdays at 7:00pm from October 10, 2023 – December 19, 2023. P6 Farms is now open Saturday and Sundays in Montgomery at 9963 Poole’s Road, for pumpkin picking and an opportunity to get lost in the Corn Maze! 

Not in Conroe, but blood your blood is needed! The Red Cross blood supply has fallen by about 25% since early August. Blood is scarce for donations. The 35th Annual Walden Blood Drive is Saturday, October 7 from 8:00am-3:00pm at the Walden Yacht Club, 13101 Drive, Melville in Montgomery. Sign up and receive two free tickets to opening Weekend at the Texas Renaissance Festival (to the first 200 blood donors.
