Monday, is a day we all remember, 9/11. The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park is hosting Patriot’s Day at 8:30am at the park located at 1776 Freedom Blvd, by the central Montgomery County Library in Conroe. The ceremony will gather around the 9/11 Monument and First Responders Monument. 

It is now the second week for “Anything Goes” at the Owen Theatre with The Players Theatre Company and “9 to 5 the Musical” at the Crighton Theatre from Stage Right. Both exceptional shows full of entertainment from our local community theatres. 

Are you a caregiver for someone with dementia? The Dementia Caregiver Support Group is a free group meeting the second Thursday of each month with a trained facilitator hosted by Jamie Meche and Megan Hester. The next meeting is Thursday, Sept 14 at Mims Baptist Church from 10:00am-11:30. Open to any caregivers, friends, and family of individuals with dementia. 

Saturday, Sept 16 is packed with activities!

Coming up Saturday September 16 is the 13th Annual Woodforest Run at Heritage Park in downtown Conroe starting at 7:40am. This year’s race will include a 10K run/walk and 5K walk/run. “Barkley Shoe Dash” for kids ages 5-7 and 8-12. Participants start the race with one shoe, dash 50 yards to retrieve and put on their shoe from a pile of competing runners’ shoes, then dash back 50 yards to the finish line. woodforest.com/WoodforestCares/Community-Support/Woodforest-Charity-Run

Music in the Park will take place as a new event hosted by the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce at West Montgomery County Park, near FM 149 also on Saturday, September 16 from 2:00pm-10:00pm. Learn all the details including headliner Chad Cooke Band, Haydon Haddock, a kids’ area with inflatables, fun activities, food trucks, a wine and beer garden, and shade! Both Saturday, Sept 16 and Sunday, Sept 17 is the Montgomery County Fall and Outdoor Living Show at the Lone Star Convention Center with new exhibitors for updating your home and preparing for the holidays. Hear from the Texas Lawn Guy, Skip Richter of Gardenline, Diane Cowen, the Houston Chronicle Architecture and Design + Writer, and Reagan Phillips, organizer, and founder of Cure the Chaos.
