I certainly don’t profess to be a food critic but I’m quite talented at identifying things that taste good (just check out my waistline), and I was delighted at what I found this past week while enjoying the weather and friends and admiring the views from the patio at our country club.  Seems that we have a new sheriff in town (make that new chef, Chef Benito to be precise) and, after testing lots of new and various dishes over the past several weeks, he’s just released his new menu which is chock full of your favorites according to member feedback received.  You’d be right to suspect that I’m a fan of what’s happening. In my opinion (if anyone cares), the quality and value have just gotten a huge boost.  But don’t take my word for it.  Go check it out for yourself.  If I were a betting man, I’d bet you’re also gonna like what you find.

Speaking of finding things, there’s an effort underway right now to find two residents willing to give of their time and energy to help assure that the growth and evolution of Bentwater is managed in a way that protects all our property values. As you read this, the submission process is open to nominate candidates for two (2) upcoming vacancies on the Architectural Control Committee (ACC).  You have a few days to get your thoughts together, polish your resume and prepare to throw your hat into the ring and, if you’re brave enough to do that, here are some things you’ll want to know and/or consider.  For starters, in order to serve on the ACC Board, you can’t be a current POA Board member nor can you be married to someone who is.  You can’t even be their roommate.  And, ideally, your motives should solely be the preservation of property values for everyone in the community.  No personal agendas.  No axes to grind.  Of course, we all have opinions, but the overriding priority is assuring that improvements and/or repairs being made and homes being built adhere to the deed restrictions.

Interested?  Know others who might be?  Either way, here’s the scoop.  Nominations should be emailed to KarlaF@bentwaterpoa.com along with a resume and photograph (.jpg format) no later than noon, June 3rd.   All nominations will be posted for residents’ review, then online voting will begin on June 17th and continue until noon on June 30th.  The candidate then receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to a two-year term and the candidate receiving the next highest will be elected to a one-year term. Want to know more?  Residents can log in at www.BentwaterPOA.com and go to Quick Actions, Documents, Election Information.  Ready.  Set.  Vote.
