Have you been to the Sports Club recently?  Yeah, me neither.  I know I should, but lack of time has been my excuse.  How ‘bout you?  For me, it isn’t just the time to get there and do whatever I might do for an hour (or ten minutes) and then get back home.

Seems, I have one of those metabolisms that, once I get my motor running, it takes forever for it to cool down.  So, even a short workout can be a two-hour commitment before I can get showered, cleaned up and dressed to take on the rest of the day.  I’ve come to realize that if someone doesn’t want to do something, regardless of what it is, any excuse is as good as the next.  But that’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it. And, if you’re needing an excuse for yourself, feel free to borrow mine.

Alternatively, you might want to actually take a stroll over and take a look at what’s going on. You don’t have to be on the treadmill or stair master or bike or rowing machine until you collapse.  There are actually a bunch of “classes” going on where you can share your self-imposed, mental misery with others without necessarily having to be miserable.  For example, there are things like Yoga and Zumba and Pilates and chair exercises and water aerobics.  There’s even something called Senior-cise, but Katy Tucker will have to explain that one.  Best of all, you don’t have to be a Sports Club member to give it a spin (pun intended).  Social members and guests can purchase a “punch card” for $75 which entitles you to attend any five classes of your choosing.  That can be five different classes one time each or one class for five times, and you’ll have 90 days to use them all.  It’ll be your choice and, dare I say it, money well spent.

For those of you who are now Sports Club members, it seems some of you occasionally leave personal items of one sort or another in the gym or by the pool or around the tennis courts.  Your dutiful staff has been collecting all that “stuff” and it’s displayed on a table in the gym lobby area.  So, if you’re missing something that matters to you or something you might not want others to know about, go check it out and claim what’s yours.  Worst case, even if your stuff isn’t there, you can still honestly report that you’ve been to the gym.  It’s a win/win.  No more excuses necessary.
