The Rotary Club of The Woodlands is celebrating its 50th birthday during the entire month of May 2025.

This Thursday, May 15th, they will celebrate their official birthday. They have put together a variety of commemorative events including a time capsule to open in 50 years which will be their 100th birthday.

One of the unique objects in the time capsule is a letter outlining a concept that Benjamin Franklin conceived. Judy Larson explained at last Thursday’s meeting the Rotary Club of The Woodlands has raised over $10,000 to be invested in order to grow the fund. In 50 years, 75% of the principal and earnings will be distributed in The Woodlands Community with the remaining 25% of the total principal and earnings then reinvested with that remainder dispersed at the 150th anniversary of the Rotary Club of The Woodlands to the local community.
