REBEL JOAN OF ARC CHAPTER MAKES DOUBLE CHECKS PRESENTATIONS TO THE GRIMES COUNTY GREYS OF THE SCV!
The
Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter of the United Daughters of the
Confederacy met the Grimes County Greys 924 Camp, of the Sons of
Confederate Veterans, on the front porch of the Judge Nathaniel Hart
Davis Museum (and old Law Office): 14264 Liberty Street, in Montgomery,
Texas. The RJOA Members were eager to make their very personal and
first Donations and Presentations to this fine group of men led by
Grimes County Grey’s Commander, Jody Ballard. Rebel Joan Of Arc
Chairman of this event, ELAINE COLLINGS, had invited the all the Grimes
County Greys to attend this special presentation. The Confederate
History of Texas is far-reaching and respected by those descendants of
all who Gave Honorable Service to The Cause.
Rebel
Joan Of Arc Officer ANITA STEVENS was 1st to present the RJOA Chapter’s
1st ever Check marking their Heroine (RJOA) BELLE BOYD into physical
presence and remembrance with an inscribed Brick for BELLE BOYD,
CONFEDERATE SPY.
(Donors:) REBEL JOAN OF ARC 2721, UDC.
This
Brick will be laid at the Confederate Memorial Plaza, in Anderson,
Texas, in commemoration of the heroism that Belle Boyd displayed during
her young years as Spy for two Confederate Generals during the War of
Northern Aggression. Her story is an inspiration to all who read it, for
what she and her family personally endured in the protection of their
Southland. When RJOA ANITA STEVENS made the Check Presentation to
Commander Ballard, she included on a somber note what that Confederate
Memorial Park Plaza personally means to her. RJOA ANITA STEVENS of The
Woodlands, has previously had a brick placed there for her Great-Great
GrandFather: Confederate Martin Davenport Williams: PVT MD WILLIAMS, CO.
E, 7TH TX CAVALRY, (Descendant:) ANITA L THORNE.
Likewise more Rebel Joan Of Arc Members have purchased bricks with the
inscriptions to honor their Confederate Family. RJOA LAURA McCRACKEN
has placed a brick for her ADOLPH JUMONVILLE, LA INFANTRY. So has RJOA
Honorary Associate Member: RON McCRACKEN, for his Confederate: JESSE
SULLIVAN, MS INF.
There will be more Bricks in the
future for the RJOA honored dead to be remembered at this beautiful
Confederate Memorial Plaza.
RJOA
Founder and Officer, ELAINE HAMLIN COLLINGS, presented the Rebel Joan Of
Arc’s 2nd Check to Commander Jody Ballard, as the Chapter’s donation
and contribution towards the continued maintenance and needs of the
Confederate Memorial Plaza in Anderson, Texas. ELAINE told all the
Grimes County Grey Members attending how much it means to the Rebel Joan
Of Arc Chapter to support their wonderful endeavor. This is the
twenty-fourth year since the establishment of the Confederate Memorial
Plaza, and the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter has had the privilege to
participate there many times at various historical events.

GREYS FOR HONORING AND PROTECTING TEXAS HISTORY, AND TO THE COMMUNITY
LEADERS OF THE TOWN OF ANDERSON, TEXAS! ~
After
the Presentations Concluded, The Rebel Joan Of Arc Members toured the
Judge Nathaniel Hart Davis Museum. The RJOA have served there before as
Docents in their beautiful Period Dresses, and some were familiar with
the wonderful details of this treasured historic home. Montgomery can
trace its roots back to 1823 when Andrew J. Montgomery established a
trading post a few miles west of the current town site.
