A Montgomery County jury sentenced a Porter man to life in prison for kidnapping his girlfriend and beating her with a tire tool in October 2022.
Tyler Douglas Clark, 31, was convicted in 221st state District Court on Friday for assault family violence with a deadly weapon and aggravated kidnapping. He also was sentenced Friday to life in prison for the assault and an additional 30 years for kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently.
Clark, a member of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, has five previous felony convictions and will not be eligible for parole for 30 years.

“Tyler Clark earned every day of his life sentence,” said District Attorney Brett Ligon. “It’s fitting that her testimony was the last thing he will hear from someone who isn‘t either an inmate or a prison guard for the remainder of this natural life.”
Clark kidnapped his girlfriend and beat her for more than an hour as he drove her down Texas 99 from Harris County into Montgomery County, according to information from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
Clark struck the victim with his fists and a tire tool and also bit the victim several times before she was able to escape. A passerby found the victim covered in bruises as she ran out of a ditch near the Lake Houston Wilderness Park and rushed her to a hospital for medical care.
Before sentencing, the jury heard from three additional victims of the defendant, each describing serial domestic abuse by Clark.
