According to the arrest warrant, Jamie Ray Rencher, 47, told the girl he was going to “store her” at a friend’s house in San Antonio before deciding what to do next.

CONROE, Texas — A Conroe teen said a man she met online raped her and then kidnapped her and drove her to San Antonio.

Jamie Ray Rencher, 47, was arrested by San Antonio police and charged with aggravated kidnapping with intent to sexually abuse. They believe there could be other victims.

SAPD says Rencher used social media to target the 17-year-old girl and then convinced her to meet him at a restaurant near her Conroe home.

She told police that Rencher took her phone away when she got into his car, crushed it with a wrench and threw it out of the window.

According to the arrest warrant, Rencher told her, “I will not kill you. I will not hurt you. I will not break your bones if you just listen and obey.”

He drove her to a nearby hotel where he poured her three shots before tying her to the bed with a chain lock, red and black rope and black ZIP ties, the arrest warrant said.

The victim said she told him she was scared and wanted to go home.

“It’s OK to be scared, but it’s not OK to disobey,” he replied, according to SAPD.

The girl said she tried to fight back when Rencher sexually assaulted her but every time she said “no,” he put his hand over her mouth and pinched her nose closed until she couldn’t breathe, according to investigators.

SAPD says Rencher then drove her to San Antonio and said he was going to “store her” at a friend’s house for a week while he decided what to do with her. She told police that he stopped at a gas station on the way there and made her break her laptop and throw it away.

After they arrived in San Antonio, Rencher reportedly told the girl that his friend was nervous because of her age. He drove her to a park, let her out of his car and told her that he’d come back and pick her up, according to court docs. A good Samaritan let the girl use his phone to call the police.

She described the hotel in Conroe and police got the name of the man who reserved the room. The victim then identified Rencher in a photo lineup.

Police arrested him at his home in San Antonio and said the red rope and chain lock were still in his vehicle.

SAPD is working with the Conroe Police Department on the case. During the investigation, they uncovered more evidence that led them to believe there may be other victims.

We’ve also learned that Rencher was charged with aggravated sexual assault in 2019 and assaulting a family member in 2021 and 2022.

The Child Assessment Center in Houston warns parents this case highlights the dangers of online predators targeting teens through social media and chat sites. They say it’s important to be aware of what your kids are doing.

“It used to be I think we were scared of people picking up our kids off the street. Everyone has access from their phones,” said the center’s executive director, Jennifer Hill.

Hill also said parents need to make sure they’re talking to their kids about these situations.

“The most important thing is to have open communication to know what they are doing. Where they are going. If their friends are actually friends or someone they met online,” she said.

Anyone with information about Rencher is asked to call the SAPD Special Victims Unit at 210-207-2313. The call can be anonymous.
