Lake Creek 61, Lamar Consolidated 13
No. 3 ranked Lake Creek scored over 55 points for the fifth time this season as the Lions took care of business at home against Lamar Consolidated, 61-13, Friday night in District 10-5A Division II.
Lake Creek (7-0, 3-0) totaled 591 yards of total offense.
Elijah Naziruddin totaled 133 yards on 12 carries with three touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass and totaled 48 yards on two receptions. Demetrius Wagner added 88 yards on 16 attempts.
Quarterback Eli Morcos was 10-for-13 for 200 yards and three touchdown passes. He also rushed for 115 yards and a score.
Sam Lee (4 receptions, 101 yards), Kade Yeary and Noah Shifflett each had a touchdown reception.Â
Lake Creek travels to Bryan Rudder this Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Merrill Greens Stadium.
Porter 28, Crosby 20
Porter beat Crosby for the first time since 2016 Friday night, 28-20, in District 8-5A Division I.
The Spartans (4-2, 3-1) have won two straight and are in the playoff hunt, currently in fourth.
Porter totaled 327 yards and all four touchdowns from the ground game.
Aaron Gilliam scored two touchdowns and totaled 66 yards. Keanu Palmer had 11 attempts for 98 yards and Darville Allen had 100 yards on two attempts, including a touchdown run of 77 yards.
Zachary Boudreaux and Sean Ingram each had interceptions. Ryan Gilliam led with 13 tackles while Allen had nine and Boudreaux had eight.
Porter travels to La Porte this Friday at 7 p.m.
The Woodlands 70, Cleveland 7
The Woodlands scored a season high in points as it won its fifth straight District 13-6A game, 70-7, at Cleveland Friday night.
Junior Quanell X Farrakhan Jr totaled three touchdowns – two receptions (13 and 1 yards) and an 8-yard run.
Mabrey Mettauer threw three touchdown passes, the other going to Aden Self for 67 yards. Self opened the scoring with a 2-yard scoring run.
Joseph Canola had rushing scores of 9 and 1 yards.
Perry Watkins had a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Sean Castillo capped scoring with a 28-yard in the fourth quarter.
The Woodlands meets College in the War of the Woods Friday at 7 p.m. from Woodforest Bank Stadium.
Oak Ridge 28, Grand Oaks 16
Georgia commit Justin Williams, a five-star linebacker, added an insurance score with 4:26 left in the game on a pick-six as Oak Ridge won the fourth edition of the ‘Battle of the Oaks’, 28-16, Friday night at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
The War Eagles (4-2, 3-1) have won three straight District 13-6A games and three straight in the series with Grand Oaks (1-5, 1-4).
Grand Oaks cut the deficit to 21-16 with 10:24 left in the game as Tristian Frazier had a hard-earned 2-run push to the end zone.
James Scott had two touchdown receptions for the War Eagles of 38 and 55 yards respectively.
For Grand Oaks, Zach Rollins had a 28-yard touchdown pass to Roan Brawley and Shep Jenks made a 34-yard field goal.
Oak Ridge hosts Cleveland Thursday night at 7 p.m. back at Woodforest Bank Stadium. Grand Oaks travels to New Caney Friday night at Randall Reed Stadium.
New Caney 28, Conroe 18
New Caney returned from its bye week and snapped a three-game slide with a 28-18 District 13-6A win at Conroe Friday night.
New Caney (3-3, 1-3) was led by quarterback Hunter Taylor, who had three touchdown passes, and senior athlete Kayden Cooper, who made it to the end zone three times.
Cooper had touchdown receptions of 42 and 20 yards and also rushed for a 1-yard score.
Taylor also connected with Eric Sanchez for a 23-yard touchdown.
For Conroe (3-4, 0-4), which has dropped four straight, Christian Nunley had a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Mayon and a 50-yard touchdown pass to Zackary Allen.
Arjit Singh made a 22-yard field goal for the Tigers.
New Caney hosts Grand Oaks this Friday at Randall Reed Stadium. Conroe is on a bye and returns to action Oct. 19 at Grand Oaks (Woodforest Bank Stadium).
Brenham 40, Montgomery 14
Brenham remains unbeaten all-time against Montgomery after a 40-14 home win in District 10-5A Division II Friday night.
Montgomery (0-7, 0-3) trailed 26-0 at halftime.
Reggie Williams threw for 146 yards and rushed for 87. Damian Taylor rushed in a touchdown while Zach Hayden had a pick-six.
Montgomery hosts Randle at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.
Lumberton 41, Splendora 7
Splendora opened District 10-4A Division I play with its fifth straight loss Friday night.
The Wildcats fell 41-7 to Lumberton.
Splendora (1-5, 0-1) had a touchdown run by quarterback Robert Lubbers.
The Wildcats travel to Huffman-Hargrave this Friday.
John Cooper 28, Fort Worth Country Day 21
John Cooper has been steady in Southwest Preparatory Conference 3A action this season as it picked up its fourth straight win, 28-21, Friday night.
The Dragons (4-3, 4-0) had a huge night by running back Dean Calhoun, who totaled 250 yards and two touchdowns.
Colson Collins had a touchdown pass to Gus Feinberg. Cole Shepard also had a short touchdown run for Cooper.
The Dragons host Houston Christian this Friday at 7 p.m.
Covenant Christian 51, Beaumont Legacy Christian 6
Covenant Christian handled Beaumont Legacy Christian in TAPPS District 5 Division II 6-man action Friday night.
Jackson Rudy threw seven touchdown passes for the Cougars (6-0, 1-0).
Charlie Wade had three touchdown receptions, Colby VanBruane had two and Paul Balis had one. Wade totaled 167 yards on four receptions.
Rudy threw for 286 yards and rushed for 30.
Covenant plays at Westbury Christian this Friday.
