With pumpkin season peaking, there are still plenty of changes to pick a perfectly plump one in Conroe for carving or decorating.Â
On the last Saturday before Halloween, many of the patches around the county are hosting fall festival events in addition to photo opps and pumpkin picking.

Here’s what to know about patches and Saturday festivals around the county:
First Presbyterian Church of Conroe
The church at 2727 North Loop 336 in Conroe is hosting its fourth pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are spread out on the church’s front lawn. There are also a variety of photo opp areas from a vintage blue truck covered with pumpkins to wooden cutouts for little ones to take photos with.Â
Hours through Oct. 31 are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 7 p.m. The patch is closed on Mondays. From 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the church hosts its fall festival. There will be games, vendors, food trucks, a trunk or treat and live music. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a movie night showing “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

First Christian Church Conroe
A little further down Loop 336, First Christian Church Conroe hosts its annual pumpkin patch as well. Set under the shade trees on the church lawn, there are lots of pumpkins and photo opp areas.Â
The patch opened on Oct. 14 and will be open through Halloween. The funds raised benefit the church’s food ministries which help feed more than 2,500 people a month.Â

Patch hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday;Â 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday.Â

7 Acre WoodÂ
Conroe’s old-fashion fun park between Conroe and Willis once again hosts its “Thrill at the Mill” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event at 4401 N. Frazier Street brings vendors, hay rides, pony rides, train rides, face painting and the pumpkin patch will be open. Admission is free Saturday.Â

Market StreetÂ
The shopping and entertainment destination Market Street The Woodlands brings back its pumpkin photo backdrop through Oct. 30.
From noon to 2 p.m. Saturday the shopping venue hosts fall games, crafts and cotton candy in Central Park. Halloween costumes are welcome.Â

Montgomery patchesÂ
P-6 Farms fall festival is back weekends through Nov. 5. Not only is there a pumpkin patch, there are hay bale photo opps and the pumpkin house — a wood-framed structure filled with pumpkins. Also see flower fields, a corn maze and a variety of old-fashioned rides. The owners advise to purchase tickets online to ensure tickets are available. See the P-6 Farms website. The Hope Community Church Fall Days pumpkin patch is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Halloween at 18961 Freeport Drive, Montgomery.Â
