The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Montgomery where two people were found dead Monday morning.
According to information from Specialist Travis Wood with the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 8 a.m. to a home in the 800 block of Omeara in Lake Conroe Village for a welfare check.

A family friend called 911 after arriving to take the man to work and found the front door open. Once on scene, deputies found a man and woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a sheriff’s office release.
“The circumstances and motive around this shooting are still under investigation,” Wood stated in the release. “At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and only involves the two deceased persons.”
The shooting is still under investigation and the names of the deceased have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
