To celebrate the “most wonderful time of the year,” Montgomery County cities and groups have several Christmas celebrations planned for Saturday.Â
Conroe, Willis and Montgomery have parades set for Saturday. Lone Star College-Montgomery hosts a unique event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Backstage Dance Studio is also back with holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker.”Â

Here is what to know about community holiday celebrations planned for Saturday:
Toby Powell Conroe Christmas CelebrationÂ
Conroe has its Christmas festival this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Heritage Place Park, 500 Metcalf Street in downtown Conroe.Â
The event is named for the late Toby Powell who was the mayor of Conroe prior to the current Conroe mayor Jody Czajkoski. Powell died in September 2020. He had a love of Christmas and envisioned a home-town Christmas celebration for the streets of downtown.Â
This celebration kicked off Nov. 28 with the Conroe Christmas tree lighting and Christmas on Main in downtown Conroe. Activities continue Saturday in downtown.Â
Heritage Place Park will be the site of two snow hills, train, pony and camel rides, a petting zoo and live nativity scene. Admission to the festival is free.Â
A 1 p.m. the Conroe Kiwanis Christmas Parade steps off from the intersection of Texas 75 and FM 2854 in downtown Conroe. The parade featuring the Conroe Tiger Band, floats, decorated cars and of course Santa will wind through downtown Conroe and the Montgomery County Courthouse square.Â

Christmas in Historic MontgomeryÂ
Montgomery’s holiday activities kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday with a parade which winds through Historic Downtown Montgomery and showcases an array of civic groups and school spirit.Â
Parade floats will line up along Clepper Drive and make their way through the historic district.Â
A holiday market place is planned for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Old Community Building at 14420 Liberty Street. The famous Cookie Walk is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Old Community Center at Liberty and Caroline streets.Â
The days caps with the 46th Annual Candlelight Home Tour from 4 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children and tickets may be purchased online at mhs-tx.org or after 2 p.m. Saturday at the N. H. Davis Museum in Montgomery or all day at Rustic Cashmere Antiques.

It’s a walking tour of more than a dozen historic buildings and private homes, beautifully decorated to reflect the historical charm of each building. Candelaria lead the way to each building on the tour.
Willis Christmas ParadeÂ
Kroger’s presents the “Merry and Bright” Christmas parade at 10 a.m. Saturday in Willis. Parade line up is along Wildkat Drive in Willis.Â
The parade will then travel down North Danville to Thompson Street. At Thompson Street the parade will turn right on Martin Luther King Jr. Street and travel until Campbell Street where it turns north and returns to Wilkcat Drive.Â
Expect community and school groups joining together to celebrate the season.Â
A Revolutionary Christmas
Lone Star College-Montgomery in partnership with Revolutionary Education, Inc. will host A Revolutionary Christmas: The Boston Tea Party 250th Anniversary Festival.
This festive celebration, is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the historic Boston Tea Party, a defining moment in the American Revolution.
Revolutionary Education, Inc. is a prominent provider of immersive educational experiences. This unique organization is made up of historians, military veterans, educators, and business leaders.
Additionally, the event will feature snow slides and a chance to meet Santa Claus. There will be a vendor market and an 18th-century food-tasting and food from food trucks with live entertainment. This is a free event on the campus of Lone Star College-Montgomery at 3200 College Park Drive, Conroe.Â
‘The Nutcracker’
Backstage Dance Studio presents “The Nutcracker.”
For more than 30 years, the dance studio has been enchanting audiences with this timeless classic. This year’s performance are set for 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Montgomery High School.Â
Tickets are available at www.ticketpeak.co/backstage.
The show features a cast of 97 Backstage students, as well as two Houston’s professional dancers — Chance Ennis and La’Rodney Freeman.
