MCN's 'Veteran of the Week' - Stephen Couch

This week’s Veteran is Stephen Couch, who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970-1974 during the Vietnam Era. Stephen went to Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Couch later trained as a machinist, working in aircraft metals technology, fabricating, and repairing aircraft components. Stephen had an important job, because the service had to keep the planes flying. After all, it’s the ‘Air Force.’ Couch was overseas for one year stationed at a hush-hush place in West Germany, and seeing it was during The Cold War, some sort of secrecy is needed. Then again everyone may have forgotten where he was stationed. (Psst! It’s a surprise for Stephen.) Mr. Couch was also stationed domestically for three years at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York, located in far northeast New York, located on the western shore of Lake Champlain opposite Burlington, Vermont. Following his service, Couch spent most of his career working as a machinist. Good Luck Stephen, and Congratulations on being MCNs ‘Veteran of the Week’.
